Nurse Manager - Acute Rehabilitation Services

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is San Francisco East Bay's largest private, not-for-profit medical center with nearly 1,100 licensed beds. We provide 24-hour emergency and medical/surgical services at our Oakland and Berkeley campuses, and obstetric services in Berkeley.  Our Centers of Excellence include Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, Women and Infants, and Oncology. We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager for our Acute Rehabilitation Unit responsible for the development/management of staff and patient programs. This position will ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. The Nurse Manager applies management and clinical expertise, education, research and consultation to optimize operational outcomes, as well as represents designated units in forums, fostering a collaborative approach and focusing on effective service to patients and community.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing. A Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field is preferred
  • Five years of relevant clinical nursing experience with at least 3 years in an Acute Rehabilitation Facility
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a progressively responsible management/leadership position, preferably in a comparable size acute care facility
  • Valid California Registered Nurse License
  • Valid BLS Certification
  • Certification in rehabilitation nursing (CRRN)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of: Management principles, including supervision of personnel, financial management, adult teaching and evaluation techniques; Rehabilitation Nursing, including current practice and trends; Performance improvement techniques and tools; local, state, federal, and other healthcare and legal standards, regulations and requirements for rehabilitation services
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, effective team-building skills, and the ability to lead and mentor staff in clinical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Active involvement in the Association of Rehabilitation Nursing
