Manager - Acute Rehabilitation Unit

This position assumes 24-hour accountability and responsibility for area(s) assigned. This individual is responsible for overall quality of service and for planning, developing, organizing, integrating, and directing programs, staff, and budget in support of the organizational goals and commitments.
Functions & Responsibilities:
- Facilitates patient care including organization and management within established policies, procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters and strategic objectives.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care.
- Assesses and evaluates staffing patterns for proper utilization of personnel in relation to patient care required.
- Develops and monitors annual capital and operations budgets. Coordinates development and implementation of appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.
- Interviews, hires, and oversees the training and development of staff and assures competency standards are met.
- Conducts a performance evaluation for each employee annually, based on the employee's job description.
- Responsible for developing and participating in Performance Improvement activities in accordance with organizational plans.
- Serves as a mentor and role model within the institution and professional community.
- Participates in the development, review and revision of policies and procedures consistent with the institutional practice.
- Provides and supports educational opportunities and activities.
- Assures, promotes, and assesses compliance with regulatory agency standards.
- Assures a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors; communicates and manages safety issues as soon as identified.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related degree preferred.
- Minimum two years experience in a management or leadership role in an inpatient care setting.
- Must have current WA RN license and Healthcare Provider CPR by date of hire.
- Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Windows, navigate in a Windows environment, use web browser software and send/receive e-mail via Microsoft Outlook. Must utilize one or more Cerner applications to deliver and track patient care.
- Must have knowledge of Federal, State, and JCAHO regulations and requirements.
- Must have knowledge of computer systems; continuous quality improvement, and leadership process knowledge and skills.
- Must have the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate clinical/education knowledge to staff, patients, and families.
- Must have oral and written language skills, visual and aural skills in order to communicate and ensure and deliver safe patient care, and to provide a legal record of this care.
- Must have an understanding of financial management and a commitment to the provision of cost-effective care.

This is a salaried position which breaks down to $ 36.91-55.36 hourly.
