Each year, ARN offers scholarships to members to advance their professional development and their practice.

Learn How to Advocate on Capitol Hill

Have you ever wanted to learn more about public policy or advocating for rehabilitation nurses on Capitol Hill? The Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI) provides nurses with the opportunity to learn how to influence health care through legislative and regulatory processes. The NIWI event takes place in March of each year. Participants will:

  • learn from health policy experts and government officials
  • network with other nurses
  • visit members of Congress

Scholarship eligibility requirements include:

  • Registered Nurse
  • current ARN membership for at least one year
  • new to NIWI, not having attended in the past
  • current practice in rehabilitation nursing
  • strong communication skills - written and oral
  • willing to consider serving as a future health policy committee member or task force chair

The application deadline is January 8.

Attend ARN's Annual Conference

The Mary Ann Mikulic Scholarship offers one full tuition scholarship for a first-time attendee to the ARN annual conference.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Registered Nurse
  • currently practicing in the specialty of rehabilitation nursing
  • have never previously attended an ARN conference

The scholarship covers the registration fee for one nurse. Transportation to and from the conference as well as accommodations while at the meeting must be covered by the scholarship recipient.

The application deadline is July 1.

Get Assistance toward Your BSN

ARN offers financial assistance in the form of a $1,500 scholarship to nurses working toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Scholarship eligibility requirements include:

  • membership and involvement in ARN
  • enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in good standing and successful completion of at least one course
  • current practice in rehabilitation nursing
  • a minimum of 2 years of experience in rehabilitation nursing

The application deadline is July 1.

Obtain Graduate Assistance

ARN offers financial assistance in the form of a $1,500 scholarship to nurses working toward a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a doctorate degree in nursing (PhD, DNP, DNS/DNSc).

Scholarship eligibility requirements include:

  • membership and involvement in ARN
  • current enrollment in a graduate level degree program, in good standing, and successful completion of at least one course
  • current practice in rehabilitation nursing
  • minimum of two years of experience in rehabilitation nursing

The application deadline is July 1.
