RNJ Corner: December 2021

Each year at this time, RNJ Editorial Board membership changes and we say goodbye to outgoing members. This year three members are rotating off the board after serving 5 years. Outgoing members are Deborah Almauhy, Terrie Black, and Leslie Neal-Boylan. Deborah is the Chief Nursing Officer of Emory Rehabilitation Hospital in Atlanta. Terrie is a clinical associate professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Leslie is a nurse practitioner at the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic in Rockville, MD. Thank you for your commitment to the journal!

The new members for 2022 are Drs. Jolene Simon and Anne Deutsch. Jolene Simon, PhD, RN, CRRN, is a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner with a focus on spinal cord injury and chronic pain management at the Hines VA Hospital outside of Chicago. She is currently the Program Director of the Transition to Practice Nurse Residency Program. Jolene received her BSN and MSN from the University of Pittsburgh and her PhD from the University of Texas-Austin. She was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship on pain and psychoneuroimmunology in older adults from Rush University. Jolene has taught in BSN, RN-BSN and graduate programs at different universities in the South and Midwest, focusing on adult health and gerontology to develop advanced practice nurses. The majority of her research and publications have been on rehabilitation nursing and chronic pain management.

Anne Deutsch, RN, PhD, CRRN, is a Senior Research Public Health Analyst at RTI International, a Clinical Research Scientist in the Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research at the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab, and a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. She is a CRRN with a PhD in epidemiology and community health. Anne's research has focused on Medicare payment and quality measurement. Anne has served on many expert panels, including those sponsored by CMS, the National Quality Forum, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, the Administration for Community Living, the National Academy of Medicine and the World Health Organization.

The continuing members of the Editorial Board are Shelly Amato, Rozina Bhimani, Laura Dzurec, Cheryl Gies, Rebecca Koszalinski, and Mindi Miller.

As the year comes to an end, I want to thank all of the authors, editorial board members and peer reviewers for 2021. Your dedication and commitment to the journal continue to raise the standards of the journal.
