Efficacy of rapid rehabilitation nursing in postoperative care in China: A meta-analysis​ 

Rapid rehabilitation nursing is a term used in China to describe what we call 'early rehabilitation' in North America. Typically we think of early rehabilitation with patients in ICU. These authors looked at 10 studies from China with 1,565 patients. Through the analysis, rapid rehabilitation nursing (RRN) affected post-operative outcomes of patients compared with traditional nursing care. Outcomes included shortened length of stay, decreased postoperative pain and less post-operative complications.

The effect of motivational interview-based counseling in individuals with amputation: A randomized controlled trial in Turkey​

As rehabilitation nurses, we know the effects of an amputation on an individual's life and thus the quality of that life. These researchers used the Coping Strategies Scale and the Perceived Social Support scale to evaluate the effect of 4 sessions of motivational interview-based counseling, over 4 months, with 48 individuals with a lower limb amputation due to a chronic disease. The motivational based counseling improved individuals' coping skills and perceived social support at the end of the 4 months of counseling.
