ARN congratulates Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital for being rated #1 in Ohio
The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) gives a big congratulations to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital for Newsweek Magazine rating them the number one Best Physical Rehabilitation Center of Ohio in 2021.
In partnership with global market research firm Statista Inc., Newsweek ranked the country's Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers in 2021. Awards are given on a state basis which include 25 states. Among their findings, they have looked at two new measures: CARF accreditations and Model Systems. In addition to these new measures, they note that the facilities awarded are certified Medicare and/or Medicaid Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF).
Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief of Newsweek, mentions that they did these studies because "physical therapy can significantly affect both the time and quality of recovery. Finding reliable rehabilitation [though] can be a challenge."
ARN Board of Directors Member, Maureen Musto, MS RN APRN-CNS ACNS-BC CRRN, serves as a clinical nurse specialist at Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital in Columbus, OH. "This honor recognizes the staff for the quality care and service they provide. It shows that our work is valued and allows the public as well as other staff members to be aware of the excellent care we provide."
Musto goes on to state that this award "motivates us to do even better, as being rewarded for doing well is one of the biggest incentives anyone can receive. Finally, this gives us a chance for celebration and reflection to discuss the importance of our work and the achievement of our team being awarded."
Musto makes note of another major achievement: 100% of the Dodd leadership team hold a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification (of those who are eligible).
