Contribute to the 50th Rehab Nursing Conference by Joining the Planning Team

Contribute your ideas, review past conference evaluations, recruit speakers, select educational content, and so much more when you join the 2023 Conference Planning Subcommittee. See the qualifications, below, and learn more about how you can volunteer to plan ARN's 2024 Rehabilitation Nursing Conference both virtually and in-person for ARN's 50th conference celebration. Submit your application by June 30th to be considered. 

The official call for volunteers does not open until September, but the doors are opening early as planning will be underway for the 2024 Rehabilitation Nursing Conference this summer. Submit your application by June 30th to be considered as a Conference Planning Subcommittee member. 

ARN Experience & Qualification Requirements

• ARN member in good standing.
• Committed to furthering the ARN's mission.

Other Professional Experience & Qualification Requirements

• Knowledgeable in the area of rehabilitation nursing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Commitment Length

• The term is 2 years for the Subcommittee member, with a renewal for one additional term (serving up to 4 years)

Commitment Time

• 2 - 6 hours per month (this subcommittee requires more hours during the beginning of the year, and closer to the conference).

Volunteer/ Engagement Responsibilities

• Attends Subcommittee meetings.
• Has a working knowledge of the Subcommittee work plan developed by the Subcommittee Chair, CEPU Chair, CEPU Co-chair, and board liaison that will allow the Subcommittee to achieve the Subcommittee goals and objectives approved by the ARN Board for the year.
• Completes Subcommittee work as assigned by the Chair and Board Liaison.
• Follows all standards as laid out in the ANCC Provider Manual.
• Reviews the conference evaluations from the previous year to identify successes and areas for improvement in the educational program.
• Participates in the selection of the conference topics and assists in creating and confirming the conference schedule.
• Recruits speakers, reviews potential speakers' qualifications, and makes final presenter selections.
• Participates in meeting, greeting, and introducing presenters at the conference.
